This news comes from my “day job,” where I work with a talented team of filmmakers to bring episodes of television into homes across the world. This afternoon, I am excited to say that PBS has announced a new scripted American series based on the Civil War, coming from one of those extremely talented people I have the pleasure of working with, Lisa Q. Wolfinger, which will air in 2016.
There are many articles as well as a press release detailing this new endeavor, which will no doubt do a better job at it than I can, but I would like to say that this series has been in the making for a while and we have been anxious for it to be announced. Any historical programming takes considerable research and attention to detail, and I am thrilled that the show will be filmed in authentic locations in Virginia and bring to light all the hard work that the writers have put into the story of these nurses. Produced in partnership with David Zabel, who is well-known for his work on ER, as well as Ridley Scott, who needs no introduction, this is a series that I am really looking forward to seeing in the near future. I hope you will all check it out when the time comes.
Until then, here are some articles about the program, as well as the press release!
PBS. This is the official press release.
Happy Monday, everyone!
